Atomic Form x Christie's

Atomic Form has collaborated with Christie's on several occasions to exhibit some of the most important contemporary art produced today. Providing both hardware and software services, Atomic Form has worked with Christie's to provide in-person gallery experiences for the public to view the future of contemporary art. Several exhibitions including Cartography of the Mind and Trespassing have been noted as redefining the display of non-fungible tokens through careful curation and bespoke installation practices. 

Christie's x MAPS Partners with Atomic Form for NFT Exhibition

 

June 2022 - Atomic Form proudly partnered with Christie's for their auction benefitting the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) titled Cartography of the Mind: A Curated NFT Sale to Benefit MAPS. The auction was collaboratively curated by Vine Ventures and Dialectic co-founder Ryan Zurrer, with many of the original pieces created as a reflection of the artists' own profound experience using psychedelics. Atomic Form brought in 27 Photons and connected them to a range of display mechanisms for the exhibit using AF’s gallery management system.

The sale ultimately garnered a total of $1.5MM for MAPS, and included leading digital artists such as Beeple, Sam Sprat, and IX Shells, and more traditional analog fine artists such as Dustin Yellin, David Choe, and Tom Sachs.

Justin Aversano: The First NFT Sold in a Christie’s Photography Auction

October 2021 – In a first for a major auction house, Christie's presented a non-fungible token (NFT) lot to be offered in a Photographs auction. The piece is by artist Justin Aversano, titled, "Twin Flames #83". The photograph depicts Boston-based, Iranian-born identical sisters, Bahareh and Farzaneh Safarani. 

Justin Aversano’s Twin Flames is a visual elegy to the twin that the artist never knew. The images that comprise Twin Flames were originally shot in three film formats (Polaroid, 120mm, and 4x5) over the course of fourteen months beginning in May of 2017. This lot includes an NFT of "Twin Flames #83", the cover image of his self-published book, along with a the full physical collection of 100 chromogenic prints in the series.

Atomic Form worked with the artist to provide a custom Photon and display to directly query the NFT. Hardware included at auction.

  

   

“The Gateway” with Christie’s and nft now (Art Basel) 

December 2021 – Atomic Form was brought on by Christie's and nft now to manage software and hardware for over 40 NFTs at "The Gateway" during Art Basel – the biggest on-chain exhibit to date. Atomic Form used its propriety software to manage the display of works from collections including Christie's, SuperRare, 33NFT,  and Blockparty.

“The Gateway” exhibition coincided with "Christie's X OpenSea" an on-chain auction hosted on Opensea.io and curated by Christie's, encompassing some of the biggest artists in the crypto art space such as Mad Dog Jones, Tom Sachs, FVCKRENDER, Blake Kathryn, FriendsWithYou, 3LAU, WhisBe, and more.The sale was curated by Christie’s Specialist and Head of Digital and Online Sales Noah Davis, Crypto Collector and Curator Ronnie Pirovino, and nft now, leading web3 digital medial platform for NFT coverage, curation and analysis. The auction netted over $3MM.
